Cameal Davis walked away with $1 million in cash and a recording contract when it was revealed that she was the winner of the 2008 Digicel Rising Star Contest. Cameal also wrote her name in the history books as the first female winner of the annual Digicel Rising Stars contest.
The winner was annoucned last night during the live studio show at the Courtleigh auditorium. The acerbic judge Anthony Miller called it earlier when he said she was the best contestant in the contest and deserved to win. Nadine Sutherland and Clyde McKenzie also concurred.
Twenty two-year-old Cameal Davis believes that her ability to choose the right songs will put her one step ahead of the other contestants in the Digicel Rising Stars competition.
