Dancehall Artist Bounty Killer Denied Bail

Bail refused on grounds that he is facing other charges. This was the news tweeted by Julian Jones-Griffith ( @alliancejamaica) Bounty Killa manager. The tweet " Bail refused on grounds that hes facing other charges, 1 of which is assault. Its very difficult to get bail wen u commit crime while on bail". Bounty appeared in court today after been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. It is alleged that on March 25, Pryce’s female companion decided to end their three-year relationship. He reportedly refused, and attacked her.

The other crimes which Julian is making reference to is the charges of illegal possession of Ganja. Price was arrested and charged in October after he was allegedly caught smoking ganja and was reportedly found with a small quantity of the substance. He was charged with smoking ganja and possession of ganja.

The allegations are that about 4:30 a.m. on October 4, the deejay was spotted along Grenada Way in New Kingston smoking a 'spliff'. He was accosted and searched and a small quantity of the drug was reportedly found in a plastic bag.

The deejay is also to appear in the Gun Court on July 12, when he is to be tried on illegal possession of a firearm and wounding charges.He was charged last year in connection with an incident that reportedly occurred in September 2007.

The allegations are that on September 27, an off-duty policeman left a club on St Lucia Avenue in New Kingston, St Andrew, about 4:50 a.m, but reportedly noticed some cars blocking a section of the road. Several men including Price and the now deceased dancer David Alexander Smith, more popularly known as ‘Ice’, were allegedly at the scene. The policeman is said to have tried to get the men to move the vehicles but was reportedly assaulted and fired at.
