Did International Dancehall Artist Beenie Man Sucker Punch Local Celebrity L.A Lewis ?

Dancehall entertainer Moses ‘Beenie man’ Davis was this morning charged with assault, occasioning bodily harm when he went to the Hunts Bay Police Station

Beenie Man was charged after a lengthy interview with detectives at the Hunts Bay Police Station. He was charged and given station bail.

Beenie Man's charge arose out of an altercation with LA Lewis after the funeral of Oneil Edwards, former Voicemail member last Saturday.

The usual effervescent Beenie shied away from reporters from The Gleaner who tried to get a comment from him. He was eventually whisked away through the rear exit of the station and bundled into a heavily tinted Toyota Coaster Bus parked at the front of the station.

Members of Beenie's entourage told the Gleaner that he would appear in court sometime next month, as he was leaving immediately for a European tour this month. The dates are as follow;

Beenie's latest troubles stem from an incident when Lewis reportedly slammed into the back of Beenie Man's Audi Q7 SUV as both were leaving O'neil Edward's funeral. It is alleged that an argument developed between the two, during which Lewis was punched in the face.

According to eyewitnesses, the funeral procession for slain Voicemail member O’Neil Edwards had left Church on the Rock for Meadowrest, where the interrment was scheduled to take place. It is said that a smiling LA Lewis was busy bidding farewell to onlookers when he reportedly ran into the back of Beenie Man’s ultra luxurious Audi Q4 sport utility vehicle.

It is said an enraged Beenie Man jumped out of his vehicle and without hesitation proceeded to beat the life out of the graffiti artiste, much to the amusement of some of the bystanders to whom LA Lewis was waving when the fender-bender occurred.

Lewis on the other hand said he was distracted by one of the men in the deejay's entourage and when he turned away he was hit in the left side of the face.
