Rapper Lil' Flip (real name Wesley Weston) was arrested and charged with credit card fraud this past Saturday (July 21st). The charges allege that the Lil' Flip used a stolen credit card to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of 'merchandise'. Sources close to the investigation claim the 'merchandise' ranged from items of clothing to internet pornography. Flip was released on $2000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday (July 23 rd).
Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Carter) and Ja Rule (real name Jeff Atkins) were arrested Sunday evening after a concert in Manhattan on charges of criminal possession of weapons, each in separate incidents. NYPD Police Department reported that officers pulled over a speeding car with expired tags (a 04′ Maybach to be specific) around 10:37 p.m. on the Upper West Side carrying Ja Rule and two others. Officers also recovered a .40-caliber pistol from the vehicle. Ja Rule his driver and a female companion were all arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon.
About an hour later Lil Wayne was arrested after officers caught him smoking marijuana on the street, it was really in his tour bus as our investigation later revealed. Lil Wayne had just played a show at the Beacon Theater. They also found a .40-caliber pistol in his possession. He was charged with criminal marijuana possession and criminal possession of a weapon.
