MC Breed pulled a no-show at a scheduled performance in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. According to the Flint Journal, the rapper was arrested by Genesee County Sheriff's deputies earlier in the afternoon on warrants for unpaid child support totaling $220,000. He was slated to take the stage at the Perani Arena as part of a bill featuring Lil' Wayne.
Breed has apparently not made a payment in three years and recently spent eight months in prison for a parole violation that was the result of unpaid child support. He needed to post $6,000 to be released in order to make the show but was unable to come up with the money. The rapper's arrest came as a surprise as fans were anticipating the rare performance.
"He's not trying to dodge anything or avoid anything," said his manager, Darryl Morris, adding that he was unaware of the child support issue before Breed's arrest. "To us it was a surprise, but I'm not sure it was for (Breed)."
