St Kitts Band Nu- Vybes For Irie Jamboree Reggae

Nu-Vybes International has been added to the line-up of the prestigious Irie Jamboree Reggae Festival in Queen’s, New York on September 3rd, 2006. According to President and CEO of VIP Connected Entertainment Incorporated, Mrs. Julie “Lexy” Brooks, the Reggae Soca Music Awards “Best Soca Band” will perform at the fourth annual festival, considered by most in the Caribbean music industry as the mecca of North American Caribbean music concerts. Irie Jamboree this year promises to attract the largest crowd in its 4 year history with an expected estimated attendance of over 30,000 Caribbean music fans. The band was added despite the fact that the show’s theme is 100% reggae which is a huge feather in the cap of the band which has enjoyed an already exceptionally successful year that included the ReggaeSoca Music “Best Soca Band “award, the International Soca Awards “Overal Best Soca Band” nomination, their 5th road march title at the most recent St.Kitts Carnival as well as being the 1st annual VIP Connected Caribbean Bandoarama Champions. Nu-Vybes will be the only soca band to perform at the massive event. Nu-Vybes was formed in 1987 by a group of five musicians from the capital city of Basseterre, St Kitts. The band's vision, hence the name, was to promote the "New Vibrations" for the generations of the 1980's and 90's and beyond, integrated calypso, soca, dance hall, and reggae, as well as jazz and R&B. Their music is different, borrowing from traditional rhythms of popular Caribbean music to create this new vibration known as Street Style. Click here to listen tracks from their most recent CD....
