Party Review: French Connection - The Fashion Obsession

Have you ever wanted to know what it feels like to be a international model. Have you ever wanted to walk the catwalk to the sounds of thunderous applause? Yes? Well If you were at French Connection Saturday night then you would have gotten a taste of what that feels like. The French connection team has done it again. I was wondering what they were going to do this summer, how exactly they were going bring across the theme "The Fashion Obsession". After going through the usual ticket & banding @ the entrance, you are taken to a walk through Paris' "fashion district", near life size portrayals of the various sexy brands of France: Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Movado etc. Next you are taken to the red carpet, along the sides of the red carpet were sexy models in couture, moving to the beat of Madonna's vogue.

Exit the red carpet and you are on the catwalk, brace yourself for the multiple flash of cameras as you are made to feel like you really were working for the House of Versace. Yes, they had people sitting or standing on both sides of the runway, applauding as you walked the stretch to enter the party between the cameras going off & wolf whistles, you really were transported to Milan or Rome or Johannesburg... or New Kingston Golf Academy. Now after an entrance like that, what could they do to bring it even higher? Well delivering on all aspects promised is a good way & delivered they did. FOOD: Done on the spot and tasted damn good, from shrimp to fish to pasta, it was all on point. The only hitch was that it taste so damn good that people just stood in the line waiting for 2nds, 3rds & 4ths. Hence there were slight delays. DRINKS: The bar was on point, as usual. I got my drinks without delay, crazy Wray & Nephew White Over proof Rum & Ocean Spray Cranberry (Blood)... MUSIC: Renaissance || Liquid PEOPLE: Just about everyone looked hot, people really went all out, the ladies look sexy and most of the men looked like they actually took a shower before coming, lol. Seriously tho, the fashions were there. People were hot, they were happening EXTRAS: As usual, French Connection gives you more for your money & the Saint International fashion show that took place during the party was way cool... The party didn't really stop, it continued whilst the models hit the runway wearing pieces by various Jamaican designers The next edition is on New Year's Eve... I wonder what they going to do next? source:The 411 reviewed by MarlonC Technorati Cosmos: related links
