Deva Bratt "Life Behind Bars" (audio inside)

It seem like Deva Bratt may not be back on the streets until March 27th. Sheldon 'Deva Bratt' Smith was remanded when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, to answer to rape charges. It is beleive that bail was denied due to the second charge of carnal abuse that he was charged with.

Allegations against Deva Bratt are that on February 4, he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl, after dragged her into a house. The child went to school and related her ordeal to the school's guidance counsellor who sent her for medical attention after which the police was brought in. An investigation led to the arrest of the entertainer, who was charged with rape.

Deva Bratt as another charge of carnal abuse against him, also involving a 14-year-old girl. When he appeared in court, he was represented by attorney-at-law, Peter Champagnie.

Deva Bratt recently inched up to #17 on the HYPE TV chart with his first real hit, Gussie Clarke on the Truckback Records label. Sources close to the entertainer revealed that he is trying to remain positive in prison as best as he can, and he is writing new music, deejaying and hold concert among other things to keep his mind sharp and him spirits up.

  1. there are too man adults molesting kids in this country and getting away with it....but then again deva bratt wont be the first or last Child-Molestor that the ppl of this country buy his records and attend his concerts....have you all ever stopped and wonder why there are so many problems in this country....these predators prey on lil kids and this affects their development and growth. So, at times when some individuals who seem promiscious it is because of ordeals they went thru when they were younger....

Jamaicans love to make a stance about issues why not make a stance over child-molesters...if the society were to treat child-molesters with the same disdain they show towards homosexuals who for the most parts are consenting adults and not a prey then this would be a step in the right direction (btw...by no means am i advocating discriminatory treatment towards gays) but we as a ppl need to stop looking the other way. when some grown ass man is exploiting and molesting the little girls...think about the future of the country....
