Buju Banton's camp, Gargamel Music, last night announced that the deejay's mother has died. Murdine 'Miss Dotty' Clarke, is said to have passed on earlier this month. The label's official newsletter, The Gargamel Gleaner, did not give much information on how Clarke died.
The camp refused to give further details to the media.
The newsletter however stated that; "Buju would like to thank all those who have sent condolences. Fans may continue to post their well-wishes on Buju Banton's official Facebook Fan Page"
Condolences have been pouring in from fans who have used Facebook as a means to show solidarity with the artiste. One fan wrote, "Buju, accept my sympathy; (I have) been there and I know exactly how you feel. You are in my prayers."
Another said, "Greetings Buju. We are with you at all times in our prayers. I've been there, but you have to be strong and know that her unconditional, undying love will always reign in your heart.Years may pass, tears may dry, but her memories shall never die. Cherish them and remember all the good times, embrace them, she still loves you. I love you too Buju. Jah bless..."
Buju is presently preparing for the release of his latest album, Rasta Got Soul, which is expected to hit North America next week Tuesday.
