Luciano will be able to Perform in Barbados at the Reggae Explosion

The recent arrest and charge of Jamaican dancehall artiste Luciano will not stop him from heading to Barbados for the Reggae Explosion at Kensington Oval on April 12.

Promoters connected to the show are reporting that Luciano's lawyers have given them the assurance that their client will be there.

"I have received confirmation from Luciano's attorney Delano Franklyn that Luciano can travel and will be in Barbados for the show on April 12, so his many Bajan fans who were wondering if he will or will not be here have nothing to worry about, Luciano will be here," confirmed show promoter Jernel Auboine, aka Fadda Jerry, of Big Links promotions in a recent interview.

Luciano was arrested and charged by Jamaican police following a dispute involving a shootout with lawmen and a wanted criminal at his residence at Westminster Road in St Andrew.

The gunman, known as Conqueror, was killed by police at Luciano's residence. The reggae singer, whose real name is Jepther McClymont, has been released on bail and has been allowed to travel, according to Auboine.

His long-time friend and fellow reggae artiste/deejay Tony Rebel said that Luciano should not be judged by the public.

"We as artistes can never tell who some of the people around us are. Because of our busy schedule we just don't have the time to check out everybody and, for that reason, in a lot of cases we're like safe haven for a lot of people," Rebel was reported as saying in a release from his home in Florida.
