Mavado's Producer Rado Shot In Spanish Town

Music Producer Rado of Armz House Records was shot by unknown attackers in Jamaica's old capital Spanish Town last night. Rado is the producer of ace dj Mavado's hit single "Gal Ova Gun" . Rado is the third person associated with dancehall music attacked by gunmen in the month of May, the others been O'Neil Edwards from Voicemail and Ewart "Cobra" Brown.

O'Neil Edwards was shot multiple times, in the head, chest and abdomen and unfortunately lost his thumb during a attack earlier in May . There was a bullet lodged in his head but has now moved down to his neck. Although he is still in the hospital, he is recovering!!

Ewart 'Cobra' Brown on was shot on Tuesday evening in Portmore. According to the report, his attackers were offended because the deejay had shone his vehicle’s bright lights on them. Despite recognizing that the offender was the veteran deejay Mad Cobra and a long-time resident of the community, the youths still fired shots at him. He is still in hospital at this time in stable condition.

In-light of all the madness of dancehall artistes Oneil Edwards (of Voicemail) and Mad Cobra both being shot and injured, TJ Records’ Word A Prayer riddim features thought-provoking and uplifting singles by Bugle, Demarco, I-Octane, Jah Vinci and ZJ Liquid. Below we’ve featured 1-min previews of the songs. They are truly fitting social commentary given the seemingly out-of-control violence in Jamaica today. Say a ‘word a prayer’ for all the victims and others who have suffered directly or indirectly as a result of this violence.
