JAY-Z is finding the credit crunch is hampering his London party plans. The hip-hop superstar has found no club willing to stump up his appearance fee.
Representatives for the star, in town to watch his NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, take on Miami Heat at The O2 on Sunday night, initially asked for £25,000 for him to host a party. Even though that figure has now gone down to £7,500, no clubs are interested.
A club source told us: “No club is willing to stump up the cash. At this rate he might even have to party for free.”
The hip-hop mogul is in the U.K. to promote the NBA’s New Jersey Nets (of which he is a part owner). His team plays the Miami Heat at The O2 on Sunday night.

The judge who threw Foxy Brown behind bars today (January 17) responded to the rapper’s recent appeal to have her sentence amended and be freed from jail because of her worsening hearing impairment.
Brown, who is currently serving a one year sentence for violating probation, wrote a four page letter to Judge Melissa Jackson on Tuesday (January 15) asking to be released because her hearing was worsening and that the only doctor who could help her with her condition and hearing device is located in California.
Brown suffered sudden hearing loss in 2005 and underwent surgery to reverse her hearing loss. She now wears an electronic ear device which her manager has claimed gives her issues.
According to The Associated Press, Brown's plea was met with strong opposition from Assistant District Attorney Cindy Chung in a hearing Thursday. Chung said Brown had offered no evidence about the medical procedure and that 'an inmate had no right to the doctor of their choice'. “The mere existence of a debilitating health condition does not merit a sentence reduction, even if it is a terminal illness,” Chung argued. “Basically, your honor, this is a desperate and frivolous petition.”
Judge Jackson said she needed more information on Brown’s hearing issues before making decision. She ordered Brown’s lawyer to give the rapper’s medical records to the district attorney, the Department of Correction and the Department of Probation so they could file position papers. Brown, who was present at the hearing, told the judge before leaving the courtroom that she has learned a lot from her sentence including “how to suppress her emotions and make better decisions”
“I have too much talent to throw it away,” Brown told Judge Jackson. “I know I will make you proud and my family proud”. “I'm glad you're learning some very hard lessons that needed to be learned,” Jackson replied.

Ne-Yo spoke with Big Tigger on his radio show on Tuesday about being dropped from the R.Kelly ‘Double Up’ tour earlier this week. He said it was foul the they dropped him and it kind of takes it personally. Here are the main points:
- On the Columbus, Georgia stop R.Kelly took over 7 dressing rooms. And Ne-Yo had to fight just to get one.
- No one could be in the hallway while R.Kelly was walking through.
- Concert reviewers were giving Ne-Yo great reviews and R.Kelly must have taken offense.
- Ne-Yo was suppose to get 4 hours to rehearse his set, but they tried to kick him off the stage in 2.
- He also speaks on the Keyshia Cole rumor.
Talk about effed up! Anyway, in a press release earlier this week Ne-Yo apologized to his fans about not being able to perform for them.

I've never been on house arrest, but I know what it feels like to be regulated indoors and not able to leave as you wish, its torture. Boredom and torture can be the only reasons why T.I. would release this video of him claiming that he will be "exonerated on all charges." I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think it would be a good look if my high-profile client went on the internet making statements as his trial looms in the distance. Especially after the judge has warned T.I. not to do anything "to undermine their ability to represent you." The King, in true Gangstalicious fashion (no, I'm not calling dude gay), said that he is putting his faith in God and the system. That's good to hear, but please Tip, no more videos, save the talking for the trial. Just chill out.

Jay-Z, through a new joint venture with the Iconix Brand Group called Scion LLC., has purchased the Artful Dodger clothing line for $15 million. The line, which has become increasingly popular over the past two years, specializes in high end denim, t-shirts and sweaters.
As part of the agreement, Scion will enter into a multi-year licensing deal with Signature Apparel Group for the brand. Artful Dodger founder and CEO Scott Langton will join Signature and act as creative director and head designer.
“I consider myself very fortunate to have found a partner in Scion and am really excited about the future of Artful Dodger,” said Langton. “I am looking forward to working with Signature Apparel, who as a company, has both the production infrastructure and financial capacity to make Artful Dodger the brand I always envisioned it to be.” Scion is also exploring several other licensing partners in order to expand the brand into outerwear and footwear.
“Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer,” Jay said in a statement. “They represent what’s next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family. Artful Dodger represents the first of many acquisitions that will begin to shape our joint venture with Iconix.”

As of last week (October 16), incarcerated rapper Foxy Brown has been locked away from the general population after committing three violations while serving her year-long parole violation sentence on Rikers Island, according to the NY Post.
The first incident reportedly occurred on October 3, when Foxy and another female inmate started shoving each other while on the way to the dining hall. The next day, Foxy refused to take a random drug test and also became verbally abusive towards a corrections officer. In response to these three incidents, the Department of Justice sentenced the Brooklyn rapper to 76 days in solitary confinement.
For only one hour each day, she is still allowed to meet with her lawyer and visitors, as well as go to the library or recreation area.
